About Me

Hello, I’m Enrica!

I received my B.S. in Psychology from Brooklyn College in 2018 and will be starting a Ph.D. in Communication and Media at the University of Michigan in Fall 2020. I am really interested in the ways that women and minority communities are portrayed in the media as well as how the media influences the identity development, gender attitudes, and self-esteem of children, young people, and emerging adults (i.e., those between the ages of 18 and 25). My post-PhD plans include leading my own lab at a governmental research agency, as well as working with lawmakers, policymakers, and film executives to help change the ways that women and minority communities are viewed on and off-screen. Welcome to my blog and feel free to stay for a while!
